A cofounder is someone who completes a circle. If I am starting a business, surely I cannot know everything to make that business a successful venture.
Every individual has their own nature. Some like to create, some like to maintain, some like to show off, some like to sell and so on.
Suppose I am inclined towards product development, and I always think about products.
- How to develop a great product?
- What features of the product would make it class apart?
Then I need a cofounder whose default nature is to sell. Who thinks about sales.
- How to sell the product?
- Whom to sell the product?
- Where to sell the product?
If these two people of different but interdependent nature comes under one roof, and can work together, then there is a better chance of a successful venture because there is a synergy between the cofounders.
To make it big, one person should aim to become the best at one aspect, and bring in a cofounder who aims to become the best at another aspect.
Becoming the best is easier when one follows his default nature. “Jack of all trades, master of none” will not help to make it big in business.
