The dark side of AI or Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence or AI is going to change human behavioural patterns permanently.

AI is already here. In our day-to-day life, we are unknowingly feeding numerous information to various kinds of AI. While shopping from Amazon, browsing on Instagram, posting on social media or searching on Google, we are feeding the AIs.

Our online footprint is the food for AI.

They know me and you as an individual all around. Sometimes they know us better than ourselves.

  • What do I like to eat on Wednesdays?
  • What do I generally wear?
  • How is my mood on Thursdays, in the evening?
  • What am I reading now?
  • Who are my friends?
  • Where do I hang out generally?
  • What do I think?
  • What are my interests?
  • My profession, age, gender, social status, financial status and God knows how many more details they know about me.

AI draws patterns from this information, finds weaknesses in us (opportunities for the AI) and then executes its purpose.

At this moment, different companies have their own AIs. They have separate information fed to them, as it should remain for the sake of humankind. If somehow different AIs become centralized, or if we enable them to communicate among themselves, then we are doomed. That is why GDPR is so important to maintain.

Different psychologists involved in developing an AI, are responsible for giving these AIs the power that they should not possess. We are giving away our weaknesses as humankind, knowingly or unknowingly for the sake of capitalism. Presenting it under the curtain of innovation and automation.

AI is a powerful tool that can control and manipulate our behaviour. It can influence people to do things like,

  • Watch what AI wants
  • Eat what AI wants
  • Think about what AI wants
  • Feel how AI wants us to feel
  • Sleep when AI wants us to sleep

With this power, Artificial Intelligence can change a generation’s behavioural pattern, thought process, and it is irreversible. Giving away this power may not lay a fruitful impact on human progression.

Top-tier decision-making is for us to make, only for humankind. It should not be outsourced to any AI for automation.

We, as humans, are at the top of the food chain. We should be responsible enough to remain the same. Something that can control us, is surely not here to help us.
