I like Twitter. Among all social media, I like Twitter and Instagram the most.
Twitter as a “product” has its own visible identity. Its attitude of “we will not do what everyone else is doing” drives me the most. This is what makes Twitter what it is. Twitter is different.
But Twitter is lost.
It has a strong foundation, and people have accepted it wholeheartedly, but Twitter is unable to figure out the next level. It is stuck and lost the spark to stay relevant.
At this time of serious concern, if Elon Musk takes over Twitter and makes it a private company again, then I think this is a positive change.
A private company is faster and freer to take action than a public company. Twitter needs this freedom to introspect, bring changes, and find its lost path again. I think with this decision to make Twitter private again, Elon Musk has shown that he has the clarity over what is needed for Twitter to turn around.
Apart from that, there is a synergy between the fundamental nature of Twitter and Elon Musk. In my opinion, both of them are of the same kind.
If Elon Musk takes over Twitter then some people will like his changes and some will not, but the overall progress of Twitter will be front-facing, that I am sure.
