Recently I came across this irritating yet thought-provoking one-liner “I’m not perfect. I make mitsakes”.

Did you notice the misspelt “mistakes” word? Cool right?

I’m the kind of person who always works towards minimizing mistakes in day-to-day activities. I think it’s my duty as an entrepreneur towards those people, who are associated with me.

In general, my everyday routine includes diverse tasks. Some are redundant. But the majority of the tasks are nonrepetitive.

And I have formed a habit; of trying my 100% to minimize the mistakes in whichever task I’m doing. I have a simple formula for achieving it.

Prepare hard before a task and analyze sharp after a task.

I maintain a to-do list in my calendar schedule. So, generally, I know which tasks I have in my hand; today, tomorrow and by the week.

Whenever I see that I have a particular task coming up for me, I do some homework beforehand. To prepare myself. It gives me tremendous control, confidence and power to improvise on the task in real-time.

And when the task gets completed, I analyze it in detail.

  • Was it successfully done?
  • How can it be delivered better next time?

I’ve been following this process for a long time now. It’s a very simple process. But it’s so hard to repeat every time for every task.

Now, I’ve realized that it comes with a curse.

This approach looks good and healthy. It’s fine. But after a while, a slight change in mindset happens. You tend to feel that you are not allowed to do anything wrong.

You start to feel guilty for little mistakes in life. You start to judge others on this standard too. Now you’re building an ego towards superiority.

That’s why the one-liner “I’m not perfect. I make mitsakes”, hit me so hard. I have been going through this conflict within me already. Then the line came to me.

At first, I felt a little bit irritated. Why justify a weakness?

But I realized, a weakness is a natural thing. Not trying to be right every time, and acknowledging “I can be wrong” is a powerful sensation.

Having the freedom to make mistakes; makes life organic and breathable.
